The Osteoarthritis Foundation International (OAFI) and the Spanish Society of General Medicine (SEMG) have created the RENACE project (RENACE is the Acronym for the Spanish National Registry of Centenarians, which coincidentally, means REBORN). The mission of this project is to work together to create a Spanish census of people over 100 years old and to discover the reasons why these people have been able to cross the hundred-year mark – be it genetic factors or different patterns in their lifestyles. The study will focus especially on obtaining data on specific areas such as arthrosis, cardiovascular, oncological, endocrinological and neurological conditions.
