29 Mar Osteoarthritis international experts involved in the work of the OAFI Foundation
We have received at the OAFI Foundation the visit of Dr. Marc Hochberg, an internationally recognized expert in the area of osteoarthritis (OA). Dr. Hochberg is a professor of medicine and head of the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University.
This meeting has allowed us learning and advancing towards the empowerment of osteoarthritis patients. We have discussed the importance of educational programs aimed to rise awarness on the disease helping improve OA management and consequentelly the quality of life of patients, in particular the risk groups: athletes, women and elderly people. Also, we have identified shared research and collaboration opportunities in the field of OA that will be explored in the future months.
Dr. Vergés maintains a long professional relationship with Dr. Hochberg: “we have worked together for the last 15 years performing clinical trials to advance in osteoarthritis treatment successfully”, Dr. Hochberg highlighted the work of the Foundation: “OAFI is carrying out a very important work as an international organization of patients with osteoarthritis to help them improve their quality of life.”
