OAFI, representing osteoarthritis patients, is received at the Vatican
On Wednesday, 16 November, OAFI was granted an audience with His Holiness Pope Francis, where we were able to bring the reality of osteoarthritis to this institution.
Dr. Josep Vergés, President of OAFI, and Maria Teresa Vergés, Director of the OAFI Patients’ Area, together with Dr. Ingrid Möller and Dr. Jose María Villalón, recognised experts in rheumatology and osteoarthritis, took part in a “baciamano” with Pope Francis on Wednesday, 16 November.
During this meeting, they explained to His Holiness the reality that patients with osteoarthritis experience on a daily basis, as well as the work of the Foundation. They also presented the “OAFI With You” programme, which aims to help all those who find it difficult to practise their religious faith due to the pain of osteoarthritis.
From the Foundation, we put ourselves at the disposal of the Vatican to help all those patients who need support in their illness.
Our most sincere thanks for granting us this incomparable opportunity.
