The Global Patient Perception Survey with Arthritis GOAPPS (from the Global Osteoarthritis (OA) Patient Perception Survey) collects and analyzes data to address current gaps in understanding the perceptions and needs of patients with osteoarthritis . The GOAPPS includes questions about: patient demographics; the impact of OA on the patient’s life; the perceptions of patients about their care pathways; quality of life of the patient.

It is an initiative of the OA Task Force on osteoarthritis. The Working Group is directed by the OA Foundation International (OAFI) (Barcelona, Spain) and the Arthritis Foundation (Atlanta, United States) and includes members of the Pan American League of Rheumatology Associations (North and South America).

Systematic review of the literature on the quality of people with osteoarthritis

The evaluation of the quality of life of patients with osteoarthritis of the knee is becoming increasingly important both in research and in clinical practice. To identify therapies and factors that affect and improve the quality of life in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee, it may be possible to mitigate the clinical, economic and social burden of this disease.

OAFI, in collaboration with the Arthritis Foundation and PANLAR has carried out a systematic review of the scientific literature that examines the impact on quality of life in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee to better understand the disease and improve patient management.
